Chef/Taquero

We are looking for a Chef/Taquero/Taquera to manage a very fast paced taqueria. This is a year round position! Pay depends on experience and includes 2 weeks paid vacation. Work closely with Chef to plan menu and maintain consistent and high quality food and presentation standards Hire, train, coordinate and schedule kitchen staff to prepare and cook all menu items to standards Inventory, order, receive and properly store (with staff) all food products to eliminate spoilage and ensure quality standards. Enforce best practices for safety and sanitation in the kitchen and restaurant Create daily/weekly specials and new menu items keeping in line with the Cookery vibe Work with management staff to ensure patron satisfaction Work proactively to ensure positive staff morale and solve employee issues that may arise Communicate effectively and proactively with Chef and restaurant owners to minimize possible negative issues that may arise Job Requirements Previous experience in a similar position preferred Minimum 3 years experience as Sous Chef in fast paced restaurant In-depth knowledge of food principals and best practices Passion for creating delicious food! Excellent communication skills and leadership qualities Ability to create and maintain a positive work environment Ability to keep a cool head and thrive in high pressure situations Serve safe or other sanitation management training Exceptional standards for cleanliness, health and safety Experience managing inventories Ability to self manage schedule to avoid overworking while still ensuring the operation runs smoothly
