About This Role

Are you physically fit, safety conscious, comfortable working with ropes and heights, and have an outgoing and personable disposition? Do you seek adventure living in a pristine mountain and forest environment?  If so, you may just have what it takes to work at Soaring Tree Top Adventures, the world’s largest zipline course! Soaring is seeking applicants for Ecology Interpretive Guides (Eco Rangers) for the summer season. Eco Rangers actively engage and educate guests about the natural history of our remote property within an Old Growth Ponderosa pine forest in the San Juan Mountains as they participate in the largest and safest zipline course in the U.S. In between zipline spans, guests gather to meet with our Eco Rangers to hear more about the natural environment of this pristine canyon in Southwest Colorado. The ecology tour runs hand in hand with the zipline course, and the Eco Rangers work side by side with the Sky Rangers, our zipline guides. We want guests to understand more about the unique Old Growth forest environment where Soaring resides, plus the importance of protecting the environment for future generations by illustrating the simple tasks we perform at Soaring to help promote a clean environment. You’ll spend time researching and obtaining program information to help actively engage guests throughout the zipline course. You will also be responsible for enforcing safety protocols among guests and keeping yourself safe on the course. Guides must maintain a clean-cut, professional appearance and need to be comfortable with public speaking, engaging guests, working at heights, standing for long hours, and working in a physically demanding environment. A background in the fields of Natural Resources and Interpretation, Environmental Science, Outdoor Recreation, Biology, Botany, Ecology, or any other science is preferred. Familiarity with climbing gear is a plus. Current First Aid/CPR certification is required.
