Food Runner/Dining Room Attendant

Restaurant tips are split evenly among all restaurant staff based on hours worked. Restaurant  positions are for those who would like to work as much as possible and make as much money as possible in a short amount of time (our peak season is about 10 weeks). We do our best to minimize it, but overtime is inevitable during peak season. Running a minimal staff when it is extremely busy is how we are able to provide hours for everyone when it is not. After peak season things calm down. Food Running is a full time position only during the peak season, June 9-August 9. Outside of those dates Food Running either becomes a part time position (weekends only), or the duties are taken up by other employees. Food runners work alongside the Expediter to build tickets. It is a fast paced, highly detail oriented position. Food runners are both FOH and BOH facing, and are helpful to both. The position is very mobile, and duties are completed throughout the restaurant during the entire shift. Food runners walk many miles in a shift, and are comfortable moving on their feet for 8-10 hours every day. The Dining Room Attendant aspect of this position entails greeting, clearing/bussing tables, stocking the self-service station, washing dishes, and cleaning. Perhaps most importantly, staff are encouraged to seize opportunities to engage with guests, starting conversations and building relationships. This position will receive tips. Tips are shared among the entire restaurant staff.
