Head Nurse

The Nurse/Health Care Provider oversees the full operation of the Health Center and medical team. Camp is a fast paced, high energy, and a fun environment. The nurse is a vital member of our community and the role is rewarding. We offer competitive wages, room and board, and access to our beautiful campus. We are looking for an individual who is/will: A current RN, LPN or NP licensed in the state of New Hampshire (or willing to be) Able to provide basic health care for 130 people, campers and staff Able to provide emergency care and/or work with local medical offices or hospitals as necessary Dispense prescription and over the counter medication as needed Train the medical team on operations of the Health Center in the Head Nurse’s absence Monitor safety and cleanliness procedures Open and Close the Health Center Review all medical forms and alert the Camper Support Team as needed Meet with each camper family during pre-camp to determine supports needed at camp. Dates:  June 17 - August 16, 2026 EXPERIENCE AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES The ideal candidate will have proven experience and be confident in overseeing the Health Center and a team of medical staff. As a representative of Camp Onaway, employees must be trustworthy, professional, and friendly. Ideal candidates need to have a calm, positive attitude, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and be flexible to the changing needs and priorities of camp.
