Leadership Director

Reporting to the Assistant Camp Director of Counseling, the Leader and Counselor in training Director is responsible for the Direct supervision of a unit, its campers, staff and program. Pay is $450 per week, including meals and housing. FLSA Section 13(a)(3) MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Previous camp staff experience and at least 2 years of college experience or equivalent. Current CPR and First Aid required Wilderness First Aid is preferred. Proven skill in leadership development and organizational planning especially in regards to teens Ability to create multiple week lessons plans focusing on teaching teens to become leaders and future counselors Good character, integrity, adaptability and enthusiasm Good example for youth in appearance, attitudes, and moral and ethical behavior Must be a minimum of 20 years old. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for designing a Cit & Lit program Responsible for scheduling activities for CIT & Lits which will help them become better leaders Provide opportunities for CITs & Lits to both witness effective leadership and be role models themselves Teach, mentor and lead teens through training program including activity programming Making sure that there is progression through the Lit & Cit program Inform Camp Director/ Office Manager of any problems or concerns with CITs or LITs Responsible for providing information sessions for Cits/Lits to practice & Improve their skills in: Child abuse, neglect, discipline and supervision issues Communication with supervisors, staff and campers Problem-solving skill for issues faced in camp Setting up and running activities for campers Group facilitation & Group management Team building exercises Preparing a CIT & LIT handbook, including CIT/LIT job descriptions, description of program and camp policies. Assigning Cits/Lits to work with campers who are under the age of 12, but only to work in support capacity, supervised by counselors Responsible for organizing and turning in Cit & Lit evaluations,
