Position Summary: The Seasonal Ranch Chef has primary responsibility for the culinary operations through out the summer. The main work involved in this position includes lunch and dinner meals, setting menus, purchasing, receiving, storing and handling necessary food, sack meals and daily kitchen cleanup. This position is ideal for someone who has experience and is passionate about food, adaptable, and eager to contribute to a dynamic kitchen team Key Responsibilities: The Ranch Chef independently performs all culinary duties as required to successfully execute meals during retreats. Consistently operate in alignment with the ranch’s vision, mission, and guiding principles. Demonstrate extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in commercial kitchen operations. Maintain the kitchen to the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, health, and food safety compliance. Plan and prepare menus that emphasize health, freshness, flavor, variety, seasonality, and high-quality presentation. Develop menus that highlight ranch-raised beef and other locally sourced ingredients, with a strong preference for organic products when available. Manage food ordering, including coordinating deliveries and pickups, based on menu plans and operational needs. Monitor food inventory, usage, and kitchen expenses, while actively minimizing spoilage and waste. Accommodate and manage guest dietary restrictions and special food needs.
