Relief Day/Night Porter

Keep public areas and grounds of hotel clean, take guests’ baggage to and from hotel parking lot/rooms, assist front desk staff in various guest service responsibilities, receive orders and stock merchandise for hotel, restaurant, and gift shop. Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas overnight including floors, prep areas, hoods, ovens, ranges, garbage cans, and walk-in coolers.  Deep clean all areas to be ready for the next day’s service. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Greet hotel guests and park visitors in a friendly manner, provide information and services including baggage service Maintain cleanliness of public areas of hotel including dusting, emptying garbage, picking up litter, cleaning public restrooms, sweeping, mopping, and snow removal Clean windows as needed/requested Assist guests through friendly interactions, answering questions, and completing tasks Communicate effectively with front desk staff Receive and stock kitchen, hotel and gift shop orders; assist delivery drivers in loading/unloading Resolve guest concerns and complaints within scope of authority; refer to management as appropriate Clean kitchen area thoroughly, including sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing Deep clean floors, floor mats, ranges, and insides of hoods and ranges Empty grease from fryers Record temperatures of all refrigeration equipment and report problems as needed to kitchen management Lock all food storage doors; ensure proper storage of all food and food-related items Empty, clean, and refill all sanitizing buckets according to company procedure Replenish fireplace wood supply from storage Deep clean all trash cans Performs such other related duties as directed or required SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE Partial High School; High School Diploma/G.E.D. equivalent preferred Strong interpersonal and communication skills Strong Sanitation Habits Physical and Mental Requirements Moving about to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the unit
