About This Role
As a seasonal Wrangler & Goat Caddy, you’ll lead guided trail rides, care for our string of horses, and manage a small herd of goats, providing guests with an authentic, high-quality ranch experience. Ideal candidates are confident horse handlers, comfortable with small livestock, strong communicators, and enthusiastic team players who enjoy working outdoors and sharing their love of animals and Western traditions. Key Responsibilities Lead daily trail rides for guests of varying riding abilities, ensuring safety, fun, and personalized attention. Provide riding instruction and support for beginner riders. Care for and groom horses; tack, untack, feed, and monitor health and behavior. Maintain saddles, tack, barns, and corrals in clean, working conditions. Assist with horse training, conditioning, and general chores as needed. Lead guests in one-of-a-kind goat caddy experiences. Assist with daily goat care, feeding, and pen maintenance. Engage warmly with guests—answering questions, sharing stories, and representing the ranch’s values of hospitality and professionalism. Support special events or private rides as scheduled. Collaborate with other departments (culinary, activities, housekeeping, spa, etc.) to deliver seamless, memorable guest experiences. Qualifications Strong horsemanship skills and experience with Western riding. Previous experience as a wrangler, trail guide, or in guest-oriented equine work preferred. Must be safety-minded and capable of handling a variety of horses and guest skill levels. Experience caring for and handling goats or other small livestock. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks outdoors in all weather conditions. Excellent communication, project management, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Physically fit and able to assist guests and handle gear and tack in varied outdoor conditions.
